Represenatative
Debbie Buckner (D-Junction City) has introduced legislation to protect Jekyll
Island from over development. HB 548 says that 65% of the island, mostly on the
south end, remain undeveloped in the hopes of preserving one of the state's most
treasured natural resources. Residents of the island, along with citizens throughout
the state, do not want to see additional residential and commercial development
that will essentially, change the character of the Jekyll Island. Click
